Sinfonía por el Perú
Founded in Lima in 2010, “Sinfonía por el Perú” is a non-profit organization established by the world-renowned Peruvian tenor, Juan Diego Flórez, with the purpose of providing the children and youth of Peru with musical education that complements their personal development. Through the power of music, participants gain a higher self-esteem, develop a greater tenacity to achieve goals, increase their personal creativity and are enriched through exposure to better ways of living together in society.
In order to foster these changes among Peru’s youth, “Sinfonía por el Perú” leads the development of the Peruvian Youth and Children’s Orchestras System, which consists of the creation of core groups for music education in different parts of the country. The core groups are connected and use a standardized teaching method in order to achieve similar goals.
Establishing a long-lasting relationship with Help Peru will allow “Sinfonía por el Perú” to continue growing and receiving resources intended to improve the education of Peruvian children:
- Help Peru started developing a relationship with “Sinfonía por el Perú” in 2016 when the first donation was made.
- Help Peru awarded the grant to the “Huaraz” core group located in the Peruvian central highlands as a way of targeting underserved rural locations.
